At the Auckland 4 and Rotary nationals show Team FUSION smashed the Australasian SPL record with run of 170.8db.
During the 30 second run three levels were achieved, first being 144.9dB, followed by a burst at 167.7dB which is equal to the previous record. With just 10 seconds remaining a burst of 170.8dB was recorded effectively doubling the SPL of the previous record.
To put this in perspective, 170.8dB is seven times the sound pressure level of a Boeing 747 on take off!!
A massive thanks to the people that helped the team get the “Green dB Machine” ready for the weekend, especially Steve and the crew at Moselle Panel and Paint who expertly repaired the horrendous damage that happened during freighting . Also a big thanks to PPG for paint, DJ at Sub Signs for the very cool graphics, Performance Car Magazine, Engineering Solutions, Mini Shifts, the NZ Airforce, Transformer Specialities, Magoos, Nick Hujlich and John Hellemn. “Without any one of you we would not have had the result that we did.”
